Rent a car for the day to go to the North Shore. Hawaii's bus system is fantastic. Bus stop is right in front of the building. For North Shore adventures I would recommend renting a car. Car rentals Alamo and Enterprise just 1 /12 block walk. Local taxi's and shuttles are just a quick phone call away. Even an open air San Francisco Style Trolly can be take for $1.00 around Waikiki. Complimentary coffee, tea and local treats will be waiting in your room at check in.
NOTE: Beginning February 2020, the Kuhio Village Tower 2 will begin spalling and painting work for the entire building. This work will start on the Prince Edward street side with 01-02 stack where scaffolding will be set up and will stay in place until they complete the work from top down. Then they will move the scaffolding and equipment to the next stack where they will continue to complete the process all the way around the building. Working hours will be Monday – Friday from 8a.m. – 4p.m. Tower 1 will start after they finish Tower 2. There may be periods that a balcony may not be accessible while the scaffolding is in place. While this is a big project, we do not expect the work to impact the guests very much. We expect the repainting of the two towers to be completed by the end of 2020.
